the Landscapes Ride;

Clive to Clifton

Distance: 15km
Trail Status: Open
Surface: Lime sand and short on-road sections
Traffic: Light to Moderate
Grade: 1-2

From FishBike, head south along the coast towards Cape Kidnappers, using the wide concrete path.

After 12Km cross the mouths of the Tutaekuri and Ngaruroro rivers and then duck under the Clive River bridge to take a pedestrian path safely across the river, towards the shops and cafe 100m away.

If you don’t need a café stop, head under the bridge again and follow the main path towards Cape Kidnappers. Before long you will pass the East Clive Wetlands, a habitat restoration project teeming with a range of native fauna.

Follow the pathway signs through the coastal village of Haumoana then through to the end of the path at Clifton. Hygge at Clifton Bay https://www.hyggeatcliftonbaycafe.co.nz/ is only 100 metres away, with clear views of Cape Kidnappers. From early November to late February, the gannet colony at the cape is a marvel of nature. The i-SITE can arrange a tour of the colony to coordinate with your ride.
